What it is
Drift invented “conversational marketing” — chatbots on B2B websites that route warm visitors to AEs, book meetings, and qualify leads in real time. Salesloft acquired Drift in 2024, and the product is being folded into the Salesloft revenue platform.
It is the dominant brand in B2B chat, even as the category gets squeezed from both ends — Default and Chili Piper from the routing side, Intercom and modern AI agents from the chat side.
Why it shows up in RevOps stacks
- High-intent inbound capture. When a target account hits your pricing page, Drift surfaces them to an AE in real time — pipeline that would otherwise turn into a delayed form-fill.
- Salesloft integration is now native. Post-acquisition, Drift activity feeds directly into Salesloft cadences and Rhythm signals.
- Playbooks for ABM. Account-targeted greetings, custom bot flows by ICP segment, and account-aware routing.
Pricing
- Custom only — typical contracts start in the $40K-$100K ARR range
- Modules: Conversational Marketing, Sales, Service; pricing scales by site visitors and seats
- Annual contracts; expect Salesloft bundling pressure on renewals
Best for
- Mid-market and enterprise B2B with high-traffic pricing/product pages
- ABM-heavy GTM teams already on Salesloft
- RevOps teams owning real-time inbound routing
Watch-outs
- Roadmap velocity has slowed post-acquisition; uncertainty about long-term standalone product
- Younger AI-native competitors (Default, Qualified) are eating mid-market share
- Pricing is high for the value vs. modern alternatives — negotiate hard
