What it is
JobAdder is an applicant tracking system and recruiting CRM for recruitment and staffing agencies, with a separate edition for in-house talent teams. It was founded in Sydney in 2007. SEEK, the Australian job-board group, calls itself JobAdder’s parent company, and JobAdder reports 27,000 users across 4,500 client accounts in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and other markets (JobAdder, March 2023). One system holds clients, job orders, candidates, submissions and placements for perm and temp/contract desks. JobAdder says it posts to 200+ job boards and connects to 100+ integrations.
The AI layer is Adder Intelligence, launched in November 2025 (trade-press coverage dated 5 December 2025). It works in the background on the records you already have, without prompts. Smart Summary writes a fit overview and match rating for each applicant from the CV, application and notes. Smart Sync reads notes and activity and proposes updates to stale candidate records. Smart Job Descriptions and Smart Floats draft job ads and candidate floats. Smart Skills, which codes skills onto profiles, shipped in March 2026.
The question this page answers: is Adder Intelligence real, or a bolt-on? It is real, and it is narrow. It helps an agency reuse its own database, which is where an older agency’s value sits. It is not an agent layer. JobAdder ships no MCP server, and the competitor Spott says it has no native call transcription, only dictation, as of July 2026. Its email sequencer is still in beta. The deeper automation on the Pro plan comes from Roi-AI, a separate product that JobAdder has resold exclusively since September 2023.
Why it shows up in Recruiting stacks
- A mature agency record model. Perm and temp/contract workflows, BD pipeline, reminders and a report library are all in the entry Lite plan. This is a 19-year-old product that UK and ANZ agencies already know how to run.
- Distribution and partners. 200+ job boards, Broadbean as an add-on, Daxtra as a paid search-and-match add-on, and a native Astute Payroll integration. Astute is now part of Deel. A placement in JobAdder creates the employee, client and job records in Astute for timesheets, pay and invoicing.
- AI on the database you already own. Smart Sync and Smart Summary aim at the most common agency failure: a CRM nobody updates, full of candidates nobody searches.
Pricing reality
Checked on jobadder.com/pricing on 25 October 2026. No prices are published. Every plan is quote-only, there is no free trial, and Pro requires an annual contract.
- Lite. For new and boutique agencies. Core ATS, job posting, temp and contract management, BD pipeline. No AI.
- Essential. Adds Adder Intelligence, multiple workflows, standard automation and analytics, and API access.
- Pro. Adds Roi-AI automations, advanced analytics, unlimited custom reports, a named success manager and a sandbox.
- Business. The in-house talent acquisition edition, scoped by quote.
The plans are banded by user count: Lite for 1-5 users, Essential for 6-20, and Pro for 21 or more.
There are six priced add-ons: a dedicated IP address, API plus sandbox (free on Pro, not available on Lite), single sign-on, Broadbean, Smart Forms and the Hiring Manager Portal.
Third-party guides put seats at about $95-200 per user per month (noon.ai, September 2026). These are estimates, not quotes. At that band, ten recruiters cost about $11,400-24,000 a year before add-ons and implementation. Against peers with published prices, ten Bullhorn Core seats list at $19,800 a year with no AI, and ten Recruit CRM Business seats at $16,200 with an MCP server included.
Best for
Owners and ops leads at Australian, New Zealand and UK recruitment agencies with about 5-75 recruiters on mixed perm and temp desks. They have years of candidate history in the CRM and want AI to bring it back to life rather than replace their sourcing. Concretely: a 15-recruiter Sydney agency with a temp desk that pays through Astute.
Not for you if your team wants to drive the ATS from Claude or another assistant, because there is no MCP server. It is also not for a US light-industrial agency that wants payroll and back office in the same product.
Alternatives — and when to pick them instead
- Bullhorn: the market-share leader in staffing. Pick it above about 200 seats, or when you need VMS connectivity and a US middle office. Its AI starts only on the quote-only Pro tier.
- Vincere: JobAdder’s most frequent rival in UK and APAC deals. Pick it for a UK contract desk that wants timesheets, pay-and-bill and DBS and Right to Work checks inside one system, with a published £95 seat on Core.
- Spott: the fastest-growing agency ATS, with a $21M Series A in September 2026. Pick it if call capture and semantic search matter more than a long-established record model. It has no back office.
- Recruit CRM: pick it for published dollar pricing and a read-and-write MCP server on the Business plan.
- Loxo: pick it for perm-only desks where sourcing new candidates is the bottleneck.
The rule: if you are an ANZ agency, or a UK agency with years of data in the CRM, put JobAdder on the shortlist and get a Vincere quote next to it. If your team works through AI assistants, start with Recruit CRM or Spott.
Watch-outs
- The AI starts one tier up. Lite has no Adder Intelligence, and Roi-AI automations start on Pro. Guard: ask for Essential and Pro quotes in the first call, and get written confirmation of which Smart features are generally available and which are still beta. As of this check, the email sequencer was in beta.
- Opaque pricing makes renewals hard to benchmark. Guard: get the seat price, add-on prices, term and the renewal uplift cap written into the order form. Price Broadbean, SSO and the Hiring Manager Portal up front, because each is a separate add-on.
- Exit and data retention. JobAdder’s FAQ, as summarized by 100Hires in July 2026, says data from terminated accounts is deleted after 90 days. Guard: request and verify a full export, including attachments and notes, before you give notice.
- The owner is a job board. SEEK owns JobAdder, and Spott, a competitor, raises this as a data concern for agencies. Guard: have your counsel read the data-processing terms on how candidate data is used across the SEEK group, and get the answer in writing.
